(Practice) fire successfully extinguished!

It’s not only on our construction sites that safety takes centre stage — our offices regularly set the scene for safety training as well. Most recently, we organised a course on the use of small fire extinguishing equipment. 

Sixteen colleagues, divided into two groups and coming from different offices, gained valuable insights into fire prevention, firefighting and evacuation procedures. Everyday hazards such as chargers and tumble dryers were discussed, along with how a fire develops and the right actions to take at each stage. The differences between various types of extinguishers and their specific uses were explained, as well as the correct way to handle a fire blanket.

After the theory session indoors, it was time to head outside — where participants literally got hands-on experience by extinguishing one or more fires themselves. A very useful training session, both at work and at home — and one we hope we’ll never have to put into real-life practice!
