University Hospital Leuven - Southern bus lane

On the southern part of Gasthuisberg Campus, we are constructing the new Ringtracé+ in six phases. This includes a new tunnel access, a bicycle bastion and the Ziekenhuis Oost bus stop, which will be partly constructed underground. We will connect this to the hospital via the construction of a bridge. At the Ziekenhuis West stop, we are repeating these works with the construction of a bicycle bastion, bus stop and the connection to the emergency department via a bridge. This project is characterised by a particularly high level of finishing, both in terms of choice of materials and design.

In time, this should lead to a doubling of trips by bicycle and public transport. This will increase the accessibility of the Gasthuisberg campus and, by extension, the entire city region.
