OTAGT Eucalyptus T.04

A consortium formed by Engicon NV (Geldof) and STADSBADER CONTRACTORS bv was awarded the EPC contract in June for a 135,000m³ refrigerated storage tank for Oiltanking Antwerp Gas Terminal (OTAGT) in the Port of Antwerp.

The storage tank T04 is one of the "full containment" types, i.e. a double containment tank where the space between the inner and outer tank is sealed. Since liquid gases will be stored in the inner carbon steel tank (which can withstand extremely low temperatures), a second wall, which is also liquid and vapor tight, will be built around the first. This type of storage has the advantage of an additional layer of safety against external elements such as fire, explosions and atmospheric influences. This huge butane tank, which will be the largest in Europe, will have a network capacity of 135,000m³ and a maximum liquid capacity of 145,000m³.
