Expertises
Industry
Our activities are not limited to public customers. We can also assist industrial companies. Civil engineering works for the construction of high-voltage substations and relay rooms find a home with us, as do the realisation of tanks, silos, concrete and heavy foundation works for major players in the field of energy, (petro-)chemicals, steel and for inland ports and seaports.
Other centres of expertise
Design & Engineering
Individual expertise, years of collective experience and a shared mission to support our projects from start to finish: that is our Design & Engineering department in a nutshell. Our Designers, Stability Engineers, Design-to-Build Engineers and Planning & Methods Engineers use their professional knowledge and the most progressive programs to create a total overview. For example, we have fully switched to BIM – Building Information Model – and now draw all our projects in 3D. By integrating all plans into a single model, it is possible to significantly reduce the margin of error, even before the project starts. However, this department proves its worth in every stage of a project. It works closely with other departments, Project Managers and Site Managers, during the tendering phase and while the project is being implemented. They work together to evaluate all possible perspectives in order to devise the best approach for each specific project.
Laboratory
Our laboratory has a long track record, is more relevant than ever before and of immense importance to our projects, not least because of the established trust and confidence. For example, the concrete specialists offer invaluable advice about the concrete mixtures that we use on construction sites. In our fully-equipped asphalt lab, asphalt technicians conduct studies and self-checks to ensure that our asphalt plant can produce the highest quality asphalt. We also conduct construction site tests, such as plate tests or PANDA tests with an automatic hammer probe.
The real trump card of our lab is the expertise we possess in soil treatment and improvement, together with the equipment we have at our disposal to perform the accompanying studies. Every year, we take approximately 350 soil samples, which we use to perform lime and cement studies for soil stabilisation. This enables us to evaluate whether we can treat existing soils when constructing foundations, rather than having to use new materials. And this is yet another step in realising our vision concerning sustainability!
Digital Construction
The digital revolution is presenting many challenges for our organisation. Thanks to our proactive approach, we see digitization as an opportunity more so than ever. We are able to improve the efficiency of our processes by integrating digital tools. For example, the Digital Construction team initiated the BIM method and digitized the absence registration process. The latter has helped our foremen, Site Managers and Project Controlling to save time. They always work according to the same principle: new tools are not only assessed based on efficiency, but also based on the strategy of STADSBADER CONTRACTORS. This continuity helps us to maintain focus on a range of products that is developing extremely quickly. Thanks to sector organisations, departments, lectures and events, we keep our finger on the pulse when it comes to the latest tools. Furthermore, due to our leading position, we are regularly invited to share our knowledge and experience at such events.
Land Surveying
It is not every day you come across a topography team as comprehensive as ours. But it's also not often that this team takes on the same pioneering role. And that's what makes our Land Surveying just so unique. Because we have a lot of expertise in-house, we also manage to go the extra mile. Our topographers are close to the sites and are an indispensable part of the site team. They form a crucial link between the virtual world of design and the real world of our construction sites. Our tools map the reality of execution and, on the other hand, set out the lines according to the design. Those tools consist of a mix of classic instruments such as GPS, total station and spirit level, and more modern devices such as 3D scanners, drones and the Tiny Surveyor. The latter is a small robot with which we automate layout work thanks to direct control from the 3D model. The fact that we were the first to use this in Belgium proves once again our commitment to innovation. Unsurprisingly, we are also keen to play a pioneering role in our Large Projects, in which we collaborate with other partners. Responsibility? We don't shy away from it!
